It's about to come full circle queerlings. I can feel it. For too long Don't Ask, Don't Tell has haunted our nation's defense with the fear of being an open servant of our country because of pure silliness. It wasn't a question of, "Well it's not important. No one needs to know so just don't say anything." It quickly became more of, "Don't say it. Don't act it. Don't let us catching you in a situation of it. In fact, just ignore it all together. Or get the hell out." With the recent victory in the NOH8 campaign, it's time for us to take the next step and the repeal of DADT is screaming to happen. The House has already voted to repeal the policy and now we have a solider-in-arms at the Senate - Harry Reid, who is ready to take the Defense Authorization bill to the Senate floor next week.

And as always, Our Lady, Mama Monster is on her white unicorn carrying the flag for Harry Reid. Surely you saw her on the white carpet at the VMA's. Each person flanking her (in that gorgeous piece from Alexander McQueen's final line of his life) was someone who had been dishonorably discharged from the United States military under DADT. Our Lady has always been our biggest supporter, but with Harry Reid marching down to the Senate floor, she has really brought it to the tip of her tongue and made a brilliant stand in the last few weeks.

Now as with everything in politics, I expect to see very much a transverse wave of action as the bill rolls through Senate and hopefully onwards. I think we can expect to see the repeal, but as with anything we've seen in history, just because legislature says so doesn't mean people down the chain will immediately listen and act as warm and inviting as Aunt Peggy Sue. But I feel encouraged by what is possible next week and will stay updated. Follow @HarryReid on Twitter.

And also, a Facebook status from Mister Joshua Burford caught my eye today. I liked it and asked to share:
