Have you seen all those rainbow photos with "OUT" or "ALLY" on FB, Twitter, and whatever the hell else has sprung from the loins of some computer-nerd/entrepreneur genius? It's sorta like that damned "Doppleganger" week except this has a real purpose and doesn't annoy the hell out of me. It's part of a grassroots movement called Count Me Out with the mission to create visibility in all forms of social media for the days preceding, of, and following National Coming Out Day. The more people who do it, the more other people can SEE right there on their friends list the amount of people who are affected by LGBT issues as well as give hope to people who have not been able to come out of their own closests. It's extremely simple, takes less than a minute, and speaks volumes when we all join the movement. Visit
scribd.com to see all the information, find out how to convert your photo, and post it for the entire week! I've got mine up, and waiting to see yours too! Let me know you've done it or I might even just ask you and I'll start posting them on the blog for a little mini-gallery of sorts. Do it now!
Over and Out,
CampusQueer
